PERFORMANCE FOILER
OF THE ROBOTIC ERA

Today we are revealing the first foiling dinghy that is born directly from the America’s Cup and a one-design outside of all legacy rules.

It offers ease of use, for all sailors, all around performance and early take off with a focus on sailing strategy and sail trimming.

With its robotic foil control system it simplifies foiling for the greater public and at an affordable price.

A new benchmark in foiling, with the speed of T foils.

By measuring the movements and the speed of the boat, the electric control system simplifies take off, improves equilibrium, and sails faster.

The Airborn continues to push the development of what a foiling dinghy is: with its stable dual stage hull shape, efficient deck sweeper sailplan and robotic foil control, it allows everyone with a sailing background to jump on board and foil, fast.

The sculpted exterior design, and the construction with today’s finest materials adds to the pleasure for serious racing and daily use.

IT’S HAPPENING NOW

ROBOTIC FOIL CONTROL
SERIOUS SPEED. FAST PROGRESS

The Airborn maximises ease of use and speed in all conditions including in light airs, with speeds up to 30 kts.

Sailing the Airborn is about sail trimming and tactics using a robotic control system to increase equilibrium and speed when foiling.

The Airborn is not only about robotic technology and also includes the best sail trimming technology: a 1:32 vang, and 1:16 cunningham giving you the power to trim the mainsail and focus on your strategy.

The deck sweeper mainsail combined with the hull make for an efficient sailplan with a low center of effort.

The advances of robotic foil control:

THE BEST TYPE OF FOILS

The Airborn features the best type of foils: T-foils that remain underwater at all times, away from perturbations of the waves, for the finest sensations.

Engineered for maximum span and early take off, these foils excel in efficiency. Foiling starts in winds as low as 8 kts and can accommodate crew weights from 60 to 90 kilos.

The robotic foil control ensures the optimum combination of lift on the main and aft foils at all times, and measures wave height live to fly as fast as possible.

JUMP ON BOARD

The stable two stage hull shape provides stability during take offs while minimising drag when foiling.

The integral hiking wings were studied for a comfortable hiking position while sailing for prolonged periods, there is nothing simpler than jumping on board and seating on the rail.

Whether you are a young sailor or an adult, the Airborn is a platform which allows everyone with a sailing background to foil, fast.

SIMPLE. READY IN NO TIME.
ANYTIME

The Airborn frees itself from the Moth Class restrictions.

Keep your foiler rigged on your favourite spot, rig it in minutes, launch it easily. Keeping a boat simple has always been a recipe for success and pleasure.

In addition, the FoilLock system allows both foils to be raised and lowered with one rope to facilitate manoeuvres going out and back to simplify it even futher.

With The Airborn, my aim was not to design the fastest machine, but to design one that maximises pleasure for the world of sailing globally and can be sailed more often including in light airs’

ABOUT ROBOTIC CONTROL
THERE IS NO WAY BACK

Forget the flimsy draggy wands at the bow, bungees, linkages and tricky set up. Or the draggy V foils.

With the ever growing use of robotic technology, Inertia Measurement Units are now widely used to control movements including in smartphones. That’s what is in the Airborne Foiler.

By measuring all boats movements on top of ride height we improve foiling for all in many situations.

– more stable take off for starters, excessive pitch is controlled to prevent stall of foils

– improved straight line speed, smaller foils are used to get even closer to maximum lift

– more manoeuverable, reduction of speed is detected when it happens to increase lift

– safety, by the detection and reduction of crash early on

– no fragile pieces, robust for the club or the beach during launch and recovery

The system is powered by a long lasting battery, self contained and watertight.

More speed, faster progress and safer. There is no way back.
