THE NEW BLACK EDITION OF YACHTING EQUIPMENT

PRODUCT DESIGN FOR THE YACHTING WORLD

This winter we’ve teamed up with CSC Composites specialist of carbon fibre yacht equipment to create a new range of products called The Black Edition, starting from:

– carbon fibre gangways
– carbon fibre bathing ladders

If you want to make your life nicer on board this summer, these are for sure the models to consider for the years to come.

For us this project is a natural move towards product design and as the America’s Cup in 2027 gets everyday closer, we look forward to designing more products.

For CSC Composites we’ve totally re-considered how both objects are generally designed.

The gangway

The gangway is now wide enough to walk on (!), the stanchions are now securely built in and can be securely locked in place, there is space to enter and exit the gangway without doing a robot-like 90 degree turn while simultaneously jumping over a rope (if you know you know), and it can be folded neatly on itself. Nothing revolutionary it seems, but for the first time, the user was considered first. The result is lightweight, does not corrode, and is also terribly good looking, you may want to change your boat to go with it.

The ladder

For the ladder, we have designed handrails that the hand can hold onto (!), and with a shape extending well above deck level so you can exit the water without having the jumping / flying skills of an olympic athlete (if you know you know). There is a new mechanism that’s flush, spring loaded, with a trigger to assemble and disassemble the ladder in an instant.

Both of them are currently in construction. One gangway is going for a 45 meter yacht currently.
